In the most beautiful way, with a goal scored after the 90th minute, Andorra secured their third consecutive victory, an achievement the club had never accomplished before in its professional football history. They achieved it in a match they dominated from start to finish but which was only decided in added time with a somewhat fortunate action.
From the very first minute, Andorra completely dominated the match. They took control of the ball and had all the chances. In fact, only four minutes into the game, Yáñez had to save a goal attempt by Marc Domènech after a good play by Josep Cerdà.
With substitute goalkeeper Christian Joel now in goal, Minsu tried a few minutes later, and the dangerous approaches by the tricolors were not more numerous because Carles Manso's team struggled to make the final pass.
But the dominance continued after the break, and Andorra kept searching for the goal. Josep Cerdà had all kinds of opportunities to break the deadlock but couldn't manage to send the ball into the back of the net. First, after a great collective play, then a few minutes later when he found himself alone in front of the goalkeeper but shot too high, and finally with a header that bounced off the ground but went over the crossbar.
He also forced the visiting goalkeeper Sergio Molina to make a great save with a long-range shot, although the match became a bit more open in the last fifteen minutes. At that point, Sporting, which had barely approached Owono's goal, found more space and started to show some threat. But just when it seemed the match would end in a draw, fortune sided with Andorra, and a seemingly harmless shot by Yeray deflected off Jesús Bernal's body and ended up becoming the definitive 1-0.
