Andorra achieved a spectacular victory against Zaragoza after an outstanding performance by the entire team. The tricolors, who took the lead on the scoreboard before the 10th minute, struggled in the first half but found solutions during the break and deservedly dominated in the second half.
Before hostilities had even begun, in the 9th minute, Lauti found the back of the net after a good pass back from Marc Domènech. Despite the 0-1 scoreline, Zaragoza stepped up and controlled possession during the first 45 minutes. Ibai Gómez's team found themselves outnumbered in midfield, which the Aragonese side exploited to tilt the game towards Yaako's goal. However, the Hungarian goalkeeper did not have to make any significant saves, while on the other end, when Andorra attacked, they did so with great danger. In fact, in the last play of the first half, Sergio Molina took a shot that hit the crossbar.
During the break, Ibai Gómez made changes from the bench, and with the introduction of Petxa and Villahermosa, the tricolors settled and improved significantly. Even so, the first clear chance of the second half went to the home team with a shot that hit the post.
In the very next play, Lauti outpaced Pomares, who fouled him as the last man. The result: a red card for the home defender. Against ten men, Andorra played at ease and knew how to seal the victory. Dani Villahermosa, after a skillful play by Minsu, scored the second goal (68'), and just five minutes later, Gael Alonso rose above everyone during a corner kick to make it 0-3.
In the 78th minute, Bazdar reduced the deficit, taking advantage of a defensive lapse, but far from jeopardizing the win, Andorra had three more chances—two from Lautaro and one from Uzkudun—to score a fourth goal.
