Andorra fall in Salamanca

Andorra was unable to extend their good run of results and fell against Unionistas de Salamanca in a match that started to get very difficult in the first half. 2-0 down in the scoreboard in the 25th minute, the tricolours tried to comeback, especially after the break, but despite Sergio Molina's goal, they were unable to get a positive result.

The script was as expected, with the home team waiting for their opportunity well positioned in their own half and Andorra monopolized possession of the ball. But after the first ten minutes, in a throw-in action, Unionistas scored on their first shot: the former tricolour Eudald threw in directly into the area, de la Nava headed back and Gorka Santamaria sent his shot into the back of the net.

With the score at 1-0, the duel has not changed, although the Salamancans have gained confidence and energy ahead of the scoreboard. Lauti tried it with a shot that blocked by a defender, but again, it was the local team that did damage in the next arrival that it had and, after a quick transition, Jonny Arriba made the second goal (25').

After the break, Beto Company tried to shake up the game with a double change and the entry of Juanda and Almpanis –Cerdà had to be replaced due to a very tough tackle from Eudald in the last minute of the first half– and Andorra managed to close the Unionistas even more close to their area. The locals threatened with some arrival in the first moments, but as the minutes have passed, the field completely descended towards Iván Martínez goal, who had to intervene after a long shot by Sergio Molina.

Although they failed to create any clear chances, the feeling that the tricolours were close to scoring was constant and it finally arrived in the 83rd minute when Molina took advantatge froma a shot from Juanda that hit the post to give hope to the Principality team (83'). In fact, just after the 2-1, Luismi almost finished the comeback, but his shot went close to the post. But any hope of a comeback ended up disappearing when, in the 88th minute, Rabadán scored the 3-1.
