The FC Andorra U13 team remains unstoppable and seems to have definitively overcome the small slump at the beginning of the year. The U19 team, on the other hand, put up a fight on the leader’s home ground, but goalkeeper Ferran’s red card was decisive. As for the U16 team, a similar fate befell them: they played a good match, deserved at least a point, but two late goals condemned them.
Sant Cugat 2-0 Juvenil | Pride in inferiority
The U19 team fell against the league leaders in a match that became complicated very early due to a red card in the 4th minute. Despite playing almost the entire game with one man down, the team showed great fighting spirit and never lost sight of the game.
The match took a turn very early with goalkeeper Ferran’s red card for handling the ball outside the area. From the resulting free kick, Sant Cugat took advantage and made it 1-0. Despite the setback, the tricolors reacted well and had chances to equalize, but the opposing goalkeeper made a great save to deny Dani de Sa’s shot. When Andorra was at its best, an unfortunate rebound inside the box allowed Sant Cugat to extend their lead before halftime.
In the second half, Andorra adjusted their system to find more depth, and despite the numerical disadvantage, they created more danger than their opponents. The home side barely threatened the Andorran goal and only approached with real danger around the 90th minute.
Despite the defeat, Filipe’s team left a very good impression in a highly demanding match, proving they can compete head-to-head against any opponent, even in difficult situations.
Cadet 1-3 Baix Segrià | No reward despite the good game
The U16 team fell in an intense match against Escola de Futbol Baix Segrià, a game in which they competed toe-to-toe, but bad luck and key moments tipped the balance against them. Despite the loss, the tricolors showed a good version of themselves with the ball, especially in the second half.
The match started with an early goal for the visitors after an unfortunate play. A long pass and a poor clearance at the edge of the box left the ball for the opposing striker, who scored with a powerful shot from outside the area. Despite the initial setback, Andorra responded with a strong phase of play that was rewarded with Marc Ber’s equalizer. However, just when the team was at its best, in the 36th minute, goalkeeper Arnau Rodríguez suffered a serious arm injury while defending, forcing him to leave the game.
After the break, the tricolors continued to play with purpose and create chances, but the match was decided in the final moments. In the 74th minute, after a series of unlucky rebounds, the opposing striker found himself one-on-one with the keeper and made it 2-1. Just two minutes later, a long free-kick from midfield took a deflection and resulted in Baix Segrià’s third goal, sealing the match.
Mascança 1-13 Infantil S13 | Defeat and absolute dominance
The U13 team delivered an outstanding performance in their last league match, completely overpowering their rivals with a crushing 13-1 victory. Despite having only two substitutions available, the tricolors demonstrated absolute superiority both in play and in finishing.
From the first minute, Aldo Papadopulos’ team took control and dominated the game. With excellent ball movement and attacking intensity, they constantly created chances and converted almost all of them into goals. One of the match’s highlights was Yago’s first goal of the season, adding to the team’s goal-scoring celebration.
The only goal conceded came from a mistake in the build-up, but the opposition created no other significant threats. A resounding victory that reinforces the U13 team’s excellent form and the great work done by the entire squad.
