Andorra was defeated 1-3 by Sporting de Gijón in a match where the tricolors managed to overturn the initial 1-0 to equalize the score, but they couldn't maintain the tie until the end. A ten-minute stretch in the second half ended up deciding the result in favor of the Asturians.

The worst possible scenario unfolded right at the start. From a corner kick in the 7th minute, Duñabeitia outplayed the tricolor defense and opened the scoring. Just before that, also from a corner, Andorra had a chance to take the lead, but Molina, caught off guard, headed the ball over the crossbar.

After the goal, Sporting stepped back and did not approach Owono's goal again, who was making his return debut in the tricolor jersey today. The problem was that, despite monopolizing possession, Andorra found itself unable to approach the opponent's area with any real danger. And so, the minutes ticked by.

Everything changed, however, after the halftime break and with the entry of Jordi Cano onto the field. The Catalan forward, with almost his first touch of the ball, scored the equalizer after a long run (48').

From that moment, the team from the Principality began to find more and more opportunities near the area. The dominance was the same as in the first half, but the danger was much more evident. Jordi Cano, very active, tried with a shot over the crossbar, and the 2-1 seemed close. But in the blink of an eye, everything changed: Guille Rosas hit the crossbar, and in the next play, after a spectacular move by Otero, Antonio Rosas scored the second goal for the Asturians.

From then on, the tricolors tried until the last minute, but in a corner in their favor, with the entire team in the opponent's area, the ball fell to Sporting, who scored on an empty net in a quick counterattack, with Iosifov sealing the final 1-3.
