Carles Manso appeared after the 1-3 defeat against Sporting de Gijón, the fifth consecutive loss for the tricolors, to analyze a match in which the team managed to equalize the initial 1-0 before conceding again. The coach acknowledged the emotional state the group is going through: "We are at a point where we are playing with anxiety and with this nervousness of trying to make things work as quickly as possible," he explained, highlighting that the team lacked decisiveness when it came to finishing the chances they created: "We create a lot of chances, but probably the other teams punish us much more than we should be doing."
The coach sought to downplay the drama of the negative streak and emphasized the work done during the week as a way to turn the situation around, highlighting the energy shown by the players who came off the bench, such as Jordi Cano, Moró Sidibe, and Nacho Quintana: "Sometimes, when the fancy football doesn't work, we need to go for the exposure," he pointed out, emphasizing that this character must be maintained throughout the ninety minutes and not just in specific moments.
Finally, Manso wanted to address the fans directly, aware of the importance of their support at this stage of the season: "We need them from day one, and we are convinced that we will end up giving them all the joy they deserve," he concluded, with his sights set on the next match against Granada.
