The youth football teams of Andorra played a new league matchday this weekend, the second of the season. The U15 and U13 managed to secure their first three points of the season, while the under-19 could not repeat the victory from the opening matchday.
U19 0-2 Balàfia
The under-19 could not overcome Balàfia in a demanding match against a rival that particularly excelled in intensity. The first 30 minutes were quite balanced, and Andorra had some clear chances but failed to convert them. Towards the end of the first half, a loss of possession in their own half allowed the visitors to take the lead with a great shot from outside the box that went into the top corner.
The tricolors came out with a good attitude after the break but again lacked precision in the chances they created. Balàfia sealed the match in the 78th minute, once again with a great shot from outside the box. The U19 lacked freshness and decisiveness in duels and second plays, but the team is already focused on the next matchday.
U15 4-1 Atlètic Segre B
The U15 team secured their first three points of the season with a great comeback against Atlètic Segre B (4-1) in their first home game of the season. The visitors took an early lead, but Andorra did not give up and completed a great first half, effectively identifying how to overcome the opponent's pressure and finding spaces to progress. The tricolors turned the score around with two good plays and went into halftime in the lead, although they lacked precision in offensive transitions.
In the second half, the team maintained their energy and personality with the ball and extended their lead to 3-1, which brought more calm to Albert Reyes' squad. The substitutions brought fresh legs, and Andorra ended up scoring the fourth goal to secure an important victory after the defeat in the first matchday. A triumph based on the great effort of the entire team, especially the players who came off the bench.
U13 5-1 Mig Segrià
Our under-13 achieved their first victory of the season after defeating Mig Segrià 5-1. The visitors took the lead in the first half following a mistake in ball distribution, during a period when Andorra had some chances but failed to capitalize on them. The tricolors also struggled with the opponent's long balls but went into halftime with the feeling that they could turn the game around.
The response was emphatic after the break. Andorra equalized just as the second half began and, from there, gained confidence, had better control of the ball, and started creating more dangerous opportunities in the opponent's area. The team was more decisive in aerial play and ended up sealing the match with four more goals, three of them in the last ten minutes. A first victory of the season for the Infantil S13, who showed great character to turn the game around.
