Andorra has put an end to 2024 with a convincing victory that has pushed them back to the top of the table. The tricolours, who will close this first round without knowing defeat at Estadi Nacional, have been clearly superior to Amorebieta, whom they have overcome with a goal from Lautaro in the first half and another from Josep Cerdà in the second half.
Ferran Costa's men have come out strong and before the 10th minute, Álvaro Martín had an unbeatable opportunity to open the scoreboard but was unable to beat the visiting goalkeeper in the 1v1. But just five minutes later, Lautaro collected a loose ball outside the box and made the first goal.
The 1-nil has given peace of mind to Andorra, who have continued to dominate despite suffering a big scare in a quick transition that ended with a shot on the post by the Basque team. However, the tricolours continued to have chances at the feet of Álvaro Peña, Alende and Manu Nieto, without the score changing before the break.
In the second half, the script of the match did not change much, although the visitors tried to take a step forward. But very concentrated at the back, the tricolours did not give any concessions and they sentenced very early. First a defender prevented Molina from serving the goal to Manu Nieto, but a few minutes later, in the 57th minute, Cerdà did not forgive after a great transition by Lautaro.
With 2-0, everything was seen for judgment and if anyone had opportunities to move the score it was Andorra again. Pau and Lauti had a double chance to score the third, as well as Almpanis, who sent his shot over the crossbar after a good move by Álvaro Martín.
