The match between Tenerife and Andorra was marked by an unfortunate play in the 96th minute that led to the suspension of the game. From these lines, we take the opportunity to wish Jesús de Miguel a speedy recovery.
Before that, Andorra had played a poor match, although they managed to salvage a draw in extremis thanks to two goals in the final stretch. Until then, the tricolors had been unable to compete against a local team that had the game in their favor early on with a goal in the 3rd minute. Thus, with the 1-0 lead and half the job done, Tenerife focused on defending against the visitors' long attacks and ensuring not much else happened.
And so the minutes passed without chances in either area until, in a quick counterattack, the locals earned a penalty that would make it 2-0. It was then that the Principality's team had their clearest chance of the first half with a shot from Schneider that hit the post.
It was a mirage because, in the second half, the script remained the same as in the first: Andorra had possession but was unable to trouble the former tricolor Dani Martín. However, in the 79th minute, everything changed: a handball in Tenerife's area eventually, after a VAR review, resulted in a penalty for Andorra. Lautaro did not miss from the spot, and right then a small scuffle broke out, ending with the expulsion of the tricolor scorer and goalkeeper Dani Martín.
With ten against ten and Andorra pushing forward, Lautaro Spatz recovered a ball three-quarters up the field and delivered a tense and precise cross that Golubović converted into the equalizer with a powerful header.
And there, with the game in chaos and plenty of open spaces, in the sixth minute of added time came the unfortunate incident that led to the suspension of the match.
