Andorra secured their first victory of 2026 in a match that had it all: the tricolors were clearly superior during the first hour of play and took a 0-2 lead on the scoreboard. However, the team stepped back, and Mirandés took advantage of this to push hard until the final whistle.
It only took Yeray ten minutes to make a decisive impact as, after a good combination play, the Cantabrian winger delivered a ball into the area that Villahermosa easily converted to make it 0-1. With the goal, Mirandés had a few moments of momentum, but the tricolors managed to control the game well through ball possession. As they gained ground, Lauti had a clear chance to double the lead (31’), while a few minutes later Martí Vilà poorly finished after an excellent cross from Álvaro Martín.
That said, the Castilians had a clear chance to equalize, but Yaako made a spectacular save to deny Juan Gutiérrez's header (36’).
If the first half saw an early goal, the 0-2 came even earlier in the second half, as just three minutes in, Sergio Molina sent a direct free kick into the back of the net. But from that point on, Andorra's good momentum disappeared, and they had to sweat it out until the end, especially when the hosts reduced the deficit through Javi Hernández (75’).
Thus, the last quarter of an hour was full of tension, particularly during an action that could have been decisive. In a seemingly harmless corner, the VAR called the referee to review a possible penalty: however, the main referee saw a prior foul on Álvaro Martín and nullified the hosts' last attempt to equalize.
