Andorra let three points slip away in a match that had turned in their favor at the start of the second half with two quick goals from Hugo López. However, Celta's reserve team, through sheer determination, managed to come back and win a game that left a bitter taste for the tricolor team.
In the first half, both teams canceled each other out, and what was expected to be an exciting and dynamic clash between two brave and offensive teams turned into a midfield battle for control. In the penalty areas, however, there were very few chances.
In fact, Hugo Solozábal tried his luck from a corner kick, but his header, which was too forced, ended up in the hands of goalkeeper Coke. The same player had another chance towards the end of the half with a shot from the edge of the box that went wide.
Meanwhile, Pau López had to intervene in two key moments, especially with a great save from a shot by Angelito that was heading for the bottom corner (26’), and another good stop from a long-range effort.
After the break, however, all the apathy of the first half disappeared thanks to an electrifying start, particularly due to the performance of Hugo López. The striker from Murcia needed only four minutes to score twice. First, in the 48th minute, he capitalized on a loose ball in the box after a dangerous shot from Alende, and shortly after, he took advantage of a good recovery by Moró to beat the Galician goalkeeper with a precise shot.
The problem was that just when Andorra seemed to have the game under control, things evened out again due to an unfortunate play. A mishit shot by Milla turned into a perfect assist for Somuah, who easily scored to make it 1-2 and reopened the match. Andorra kept their composure and tried to exploit the increasingly evident gaps in Celta's reserve team. They even managed to score a third goal from a set piece, but after a VAR review, the referee disallowed it for offside.
What eventually came, however, was the equalizing goal for Celta in a quick move, once again down the right flank, with Milla setting up Álvaro Marín to score (85’). But there were still nine minutes left, and in the midst of the chaos, Andorra could have regained the lead. Julian Rijkhoff hit the crossbar, Álex Calvo shot over in another clear chance, and Rijkhoff had yet another opportunity.
Just when it seemed the points would be shared between the two teams, Celta completed their comeback with two goals in added time. Álvaro Marín (97’) and Andrés Antañón (101’) ensured that the tricolor team returned to the Principality empty-handed.
