Good impression in the first game

Crònica de la victòria del FC Andorra contra el Southampton sub23 en el primer partit de la pretemporada

On the fourth day of the stage in San Pedro del Pinatar and just completed the first two weeks of training, FC Andorra left a very good impression in the first match of the pre-season. Ferran Costa's men beat Southampton's second team 2-0 in a match that saw the nine signings of this summer make their debuts.

Great first half

In a very complete first half, we could see a brave and intense Andorra in the pressure and which was clearly superior to its rival. The tricolours, who were also very good with the ball at their feet, dominated from the first minute and went into half-time with a two-goal advantage on the scoreboard. The first one, just as half an hour had passed, when Erik Morán intercepted a pass from the goalkeeper and assist to Álvaro Martín. And a few minutes later, Álex Calvo took advantage of a loose ball in the box to extend the advantage with a good shoot.

In the second half, the tricolour dominance has remained almost the same, although the game of the duel has decreased a little. Despite this, Josep Cerdà had two good options to extend the lead, while in the other goal, Nico Ratti saved very well a powerful free-kick, the clearest opportunity for the English.

All in all, it was possible to see a good game and the master lines of what Ferran Costa wants from his team. All the players from the first squad have had minutes plus the youngster Iván Rodríguez, who played the entire second half.
