Andorra couldn't get past a draw in a match where they did everything and more to take the three points. Mirandés, well-organized at the back, managed to capitalize on one of the few opportunities they had to equalize Villahermosa's opening goal and defended with discipline until the end.
The team from the Principality came out like a steamroller with an unleashed Minsu. The Korean winger tried his luck on four occasions in the first half-hour of the match, the first just after kickoff and the second, the clearest, in the 4th minute with a shot that Nikic miraculously saved. The tricolors kept pushing and finally found their reward with a strike from Villahermosa, who scored his third goal of the season in the 18th minute to open the scoring.
Ibai Gómez's side was clearly superior to their opponent, who only managed to create danger for Yaako's goal from set pieces. And it was precisely from one of these situations that the equalizing play came. In a messy action inside the area following a corner kick, Marc Domènech committed a penalty, and Carlos Fernández made no mistake.
The goal didn't reflect what had been seen on the pitch in the first 24 minutes, but the storyline didn't change as the minutes went by. It's true that Andorra struggled to break through the increasingly deep defense of Mirandés, but through persistence, they kept finding their chances.
In the second half, Olabarrieta was the first to try with a shot that hit the post (61'), and shortly after, Jastin had another clear opportunity. But as time went on, the tricolor team couldn't find a way to turn their dominance into a second goal they undoubtedly deserved.
