Despite playing an excellent second half, Andorra had to settle for a draw in the match against Cultural Leonesa. The tricolors, who struggled a bit in the first 45 minutes, dominated their opponent in the second half but were only able to equalize the initial Leonese goal with a strike from Josep Cerdà.
The pre-match preparations, which had to be postponed for more than two hours due to the heavy snowfall during the previous night and morning, were marked by the effort to clear the snow from the pitch. Fans from both teams also contributed to this task. The start of the match, perhaps affected by all this, was a bit slow, with Andorra struggling to take control.
Cultural, on the other hand, did not want possession but was better at the start and opened the scoring before the first quarter of an hour in a quick play finished by Luis Chacón (14’). From that point, the tricolors tried to push their opponent through possession, although the Leonese team caused trouble every time they managed to counterattack.
Just before halftime, Lauti almost equalized after a good cross from Manu Nieto. It was the prelude to a second half completely dominated by Andorra.
The three substitutions at halftime – Marc Domènech, Josep Cerdà, and Olabarrieta – had an immediate impact, and from the start, the local team launched an all-out attack. In the 52nd minute, Lauti hit the post, and four minutes later, the woodwork again denied a goal, this time from Josep Cerdà. Finally, the 1-1 equalizer came in the 58th minute, but that would be the final score. In the last half hour, Andorra tried everything, but they came up against a Cultu that defended tooth and nail.
