Football is not fair to Andorra

In one of the best matches of the season, Andorra, which was clearly superior to its opponent, earned a point with a bittersweet taste. The positive aspect is that the team came back from a 0-2 deficit at halftime, but after achieving the hardest part, they let the victory slip away in the final moments.

The tricolors were better in the first half and the second. The problem was that Málaga scored on almost their first chance: first, Owono deflected a dangerous shot from the Andalusians to a corner, but from the resulting corner kick, Murillo outjumped the local defense and opened the scoring.

Imanol had tried before the visitors' goal, and after the 0-1, Lautaro and Yeray also attempted very dangerous shots. In fact, the two forwards were involved in what could have been the equalizing goal, but the referee disallowed Yeray's goal for a very marginal foul by the Galician striker. And when it seemed both teams would head into halftime with a 0-1 scoreline, a silly penalty in an isolated play resulted in Málaga's second goal.

But despite the double blow, Carles Manso's team came out all guns blazing in the second half. Lautaro reduced the deficit, but once again fortune turned its back on Andorra, and the goal was disallowed for a millimetric offside.

A third consecutive blow for a team that did not give up. In just five minutes, Josep Cerdà scored two goals to level the score.

From there, the match became chaotic. Málaga hit the post, and Andorra kept pushing. Then, in the 80th minute, Lautaro received the ball inside the box and beat the visiting goalkeeper with a magnificent chip.

The hardest part was already done, but just when victory seemed within reach, another set-piece situation ended up condemning the team from the Principality. In a second play following a corner kick, the Andalusians scored the equalizer, and the 3-3 scoreline remained unchanged.
