Ferran Costa: "Nothing else matters to us other than winning"

We will close the year with the visit of Amorebieta and Ferran Costa spoke to the media before the match. Convinced that the team will recover from last week's setback, the coach appealed to get the three points to go on vacation with good feelings.

"It has been a week where we have looked ahead thinking about the immediate future we have. It is the last game of the year, there will be no post-match on Monday and I feel that we must face it as if it were the last one we play, 100% focused on gettint the three points and the victory and leaving all the energy and strength to play a game of a very high level because it is what will bring us closer to winning."

"The situation of the opponent is not decisive. They have got points in four of the last six games, with a very experienced coach who all the teams he has managed have order and good organization and the ability to have win points against teams from the top as they did in these last games. But the most important thing is how we approach it: it is a decisive game because afterwards there will be time to rest and because we are playing at home where we are showing our strength. The focus is here."

"The objective of the week is clear: there is one game left and we have to win it. Amorebieta comes with its weapons and its intention of game plan, but it doesn't matter to us: we have to go out with all our energy and we can only finish the game with the three points. This is the message of the week for the group and for everyone and it is what the players have to transmit on Sunday in each action."

"I don't think it is a week of taking stock. Then we have ten days to dedicate all the time to analyzing, thinking, understanding what has happened, what the team's line has been and what conclusions we can draw to grow in the second part of the competition."

"The thought is to reach the break with 28 points, probably returnin to the play-off zone, seeing how many points we finish from the first... this should be the goal. When the match is over, this is what we must look at and, from there, recover strength and energy, evaluate everything that has happened and improve. We have the opportunity to go into the break in a position in the standings that would allow us to play for promotion play-off at the end of the season and that is what we cannot miss.”

"Two weeks ago I did not believe that I was the best coach in the world and now I do not believe that I am the worst. What I believe is that if the team does what it must do on Sunday we will be very close to winning the match and if we win we will be in the top positions. We must improve many things as a team, but in such a close and demanding competition, what I try to do is to make the group strong and not deviate from where we must put our energy."
