The Copa Tricolor has arrived to stay. The first edition of this mixed ability competition was a great success, with top-level teams, lots of football, and above all, plenty of camaraderie and unity among all the participants.
Girona CF was the winner of the tournament, although victory was not the most important thing on yesterday's Sunday event. Among those present were personalities such as the Minister of Social Affairs Trini Marín, representatives of the Comú d'Encamp, and the senior men's national team coach Koldo Álvarez de Eulate. After the cup, the celebration continued with a joint lunch in Encamp and attendance at the stadium to watch live the great victory of Andorra's first team against UD Las Palmas. Additionally, during halftime, the deputy mayor of Encamp, Xavi Fernández, and the sports councilor, Nino Marot, along with Andorra's institutional representative, Carles Riba, presented a trophy to the captains of all the participating teams.
It is worth noting that what makes this type of mixed ability tournament special is that it allows athletes with and without disabilities to compete and play together under the same rules, making it a clear tool for the integration of people with intellectual disabilities into society.
