This is how the tricolour coach assessed the first leg match against Ponferradina played at the FAF Stadium in Encamp.

"I think there were two [penalties]. Obviously they are important details. We all have the right to have a bad day. I told the referee, in a moment of calm, that when he saw them on television he would see that they were two very clear penalties. We are sorry because I think we generated enough attacking actions against a very rocky opponent. I think they generated enough to take something more away from us".
"The context of the match also changes. With the 0-1 score they felt comfortable defending a little further back and I think they also had wear and tear. In the first half they defended very closely, especially inside, and that made things difficult for us. We insisted a lot on putting balls inside, but in the half we tried to correct that".
"The moments of excitement must be taken advantage of. And we have had moments like that, pushed by the Encamp crowd which, let me tell you, has been incredible. We had these moments of excitement to close them with two saves by Andrés Prieto, the possible penalty, Molina's shot on the post... but they reacted and the match, paradoxically, ended with a corner in their favor".
"Nerves are normal, everyone is a little more tense than usual, but I don't think it has affected us. At halftime we reminded the players to focus on everything that happens on the pitch: the green, the ball, the opponent and us... everything we can do. And we can't control the refereeing."
