Andorra was eliminated in the second round of the Cup after losing at the Cultural Leonesa's field in a wild and goal-filled match. The tricolors saw their opponent being extremely effective in front of the goal and eventually taking a game that the team from the Principality had equalized on two occasions.
The script of the match was as expected, with the Leonesa team waiting with a low block and Andorra monopolizing possession, trying to break through the rival defense. However, the minutes passed without clear chances until, on their first opportunity, the Cultu struck through Pibe (29'). Fortunately, the tricolors reacted, and with a great individual play, Jastin equalized just before heading to the locker rooms.
In the second half, hostilities began much earlier, and right at the start, in a quick transition, the team led by Cuco Ziganda took the lead again on the scoreboard thanks to a good goal by Paco Cortés (51'). Despite the new blow, the tricolors kept possession and persisted until, after a shot by Olabarrieta, Théo Le Normand picked up a ball inside the area to make it 2-2 (65').
The problem was that the joy was short-lived, and four minutes after the equalizer, the locals took the lead again from a corner kick (69'). With very little, the Cultu had scored three goals, and Andorra saw that they had to fight back once more. It was too big of a challenge, even though the team tried until the end.
In fact, Uzkudun had a golden opportunity to equalize, but he was denied by a miraculous save from Bañuz, who thwarted the tricolors' last attempt to get back into the match. And if there was any remaining hope, just before injury time, Ribeiro sealed the game.
