Victory by a solitary goal against Lausanne

Andorra secured victory in the first match of 2024 in a friendly game against Swiss side Lausanne. A goal by Álvaro Martín after a great collective move in the second half was definitive in a match marked by the debut of Karrikaburu, who played his first minutes with the tricolour jersey.

The game was even with Andorra as always having more possession against a Lausanne who were also brave with the ball. In fact, the first shots on goal came from the Swiss side. It was in the last minutes when the Tricolours came close to the rival goal with a shot from Pablo Moreno that saved goalkeeper Letica very well (35') and another from Iván Gil a few minutes later that hit the post.

After half time, Eder Sarabia changed almost the entire team, but the Tricolours came out well enough, fluid with the ball and running their opponent who tried it on a corner kick at the first post. But Andorra had the best chances, two clear ones in the boots of rookie Karrika, who came close to opening the score in the 51st minute with a shot that went one way too cross. At the end, the Navarre striker had another good opportunity, but the goal came in the 73rd minute after a good backward pass from Pampín that finished Álvaro Martín from inside the penalty area.
