Andorra achieved their first home victory of 2026 in a match against Zaragoza that had it all: the tricolors were clearly superior in the first half but failed to seal the game and ended up suffering unnecessarily against a visiting team that, without creating much danger, tried until the end.
Andorra's first half was immaculate, with Josep Cerdà, the scorer of both goals, shining. Moreover, the home team found the net in their first two clear chances, which brought calmness to their game.
In the 8th minute, Josep Cerdà picked up a ball at the far post and, after a couple of cuts, sent the ball into the back of the net with a precise shot. A few minutes later, from a corner kick, the same Mallorcan winger scored the 2-0 by finishing alone from inside the small area.
From there, the game opened up and tilted towards Zaragoza's goal, as they left many gaps in their defense in an attempt to close the gap. The problem was that Andorra failed to make the final pass and missed a good opportunity to almost seal the game by halftime.
In the second half, the match seemed to go more in Andorra's favor with the sending off of visiting player Insua, but just after being reduced to ten men, the Aragonese team closed the gap with a stunning goal by Dani Gómez, and that's when all the fears crept into Andorra. Zaragoza didn't create much more danger, but Carles Manso's team started to doubt themselves and had to sweat and hold onto their lead on the scoreboard until the final whistle.
