Comeback and victory against Europa

Another victory for Ibai Gómez's Andorra, which defeated Europa in the match held at the Camp d’Esports in Lleida. The friendly match, organized to raise funds to help Lleida CF in its delicate financial situation, was entertaining, with the tricolor team improving as the game progressed and overturning the initial goal scored by Europa.

Right at the start, Owono had to make a crucial save in a quick play by Europa, although Andorra responded in the 20th minute with a powerful shot from Dani Villahermosa that hit the crossbar.

Despite these two chances, the pace of the game was quite slow, with the tricolor team trying to pin down their opponent and the Gràcia-based team attempting to strike on transitions. Finally, Europa took the lead on the scoreboard in an unfortunate play that Jordi Cano finished with a shot into the back of the net (28’). Fortunately, Andorra reacted well, and although Owono had to intervene successfully again, Manu Nieto equalized in the last play of the match.

In the second half, Andorra came out with more intensity and took even greater control, now clearly superior to their opponent. In fact, within just two minutes, Ibai Gómez's team had three clear chances to take the lead: two from Álvaro Martín and a shot from outside the box by Iván Rodríguez.

At the hour mark, as happened yesterday against Nàstic, all the rotations took place, but even so, the game was already tilting towards Europa's goal. In one of the first actions by the recently introduced Imanol, the full-back provoked a handball penalty, which he himself converted into the 2-1 (67’).

Now ahead on the scoreboard, Andorra was the clear dominator and eventually sealed the definitive 3-1 when Almpanis set up Lautaro for an easy goal.
