A bittersweet feeling for Andorra, who have got a point in another match that was clearly more than enough. The tricolours have had a great second half and have been left with the desire to take home a victory that, on opportunities, they would have deserved.
Right from the start, Manu Nieto had an unbeatable opportunity to open the scoring, but in the initial exchange of moves, Andorra was the one who came out worse off. Just in the 3rd minute, the locals took advantage of his options and opened the scoring through Álvaro Marín.
The goal did not change the planned script of the match and the tricolours took control of the ball against an Amorebieta who was also quite brave and who created danger every time he managed to move the ball close to Nico Ratti's goal. The tricolour goalkeeper, however, did not have to intervene, while in the other goal, Marino was key to preventing Juanda's goal. And just before the break, Manu Nieto came up against the Basque goalkeeper again.
In the second half, Beto Company shook up the team with the entry of Trigueros, Erik Morán and Almpanis. With three central defenders, Manu accompanying Lautaro and the wings for Juanda and Almpanis, Andorra bottled up Amore in their own half and the second half was a real attack-and-goal for the tricolour team.
The minutes, however, were passing and, despite a very high volume of attacking actions and clear options such as one by Juanda and another shot by Lauti, with everything in their favor, the away team could not find the way to the goal. Until the tie ended up coming in the most unexpected way: in the 73rd minute, Erik Morán dropped a ball into the penalty area after a corner kick and scored 1-1.
The Principality squad seemed to have done the most difficult, but from the goal the duel went crazy and anything could have happened. Andorra continued to get closer to the goal, but the Basques could also have taken advantage of the tricolor courage in some transition.
