Andorra have paid off for all his mistakes in yet another defeat away from home. The Tricolours dominated and had more chances than Cartagena, but the lack of accurancy and the set pieces doomed the Principality team.
Eder Sarabia's side did not start well and in the first minutes they were outplayed by the home side. So, just getting started, Nico had to save a Musto header in a corner. Cartagena caused problems with their direct play and quick transitions, and it took Andorra a few minutes to calm down and take control of the game. When he did, he could score on a clear opportunity just before the half-hour mark: Pombo sent a rocket to the crossbar and, on the second play, Scheidler failed to give enough strength to his shot.
But just when it looked like half-time would come with a goalless draw, on another corner kick, the home team opened the scoring with an unappealing header from Fontán (41'). The goal, of course, was a hard blow, but the Tricolours came out strong after half time and deserved the goal in the first part of the second half.
Chances to draw
Iker Benito had a very clear chance (56') and a few minutes later Scheidler tried twice. The game had already become a constant attack-and-goal, although after these three scares, Cartagena managed to calm the visiting momentum. Until the end, only one shot from Pombo (81'), while the home side had the sentence already at the end, with a great movement from Ortuño that ended with the ball on the crossbar.
