Manel Royo, second winter signing

FC Andorra has reached an agreement with the full-back Manel Royo to join the first team. Royo, who has played in the Netherlands for the last three years, arrives in the Principality after leaving NAC Breda. He signs until the end of the season with the option of a further year.

Manel Royo (Alcanar, 28/02/1994) is a footballer with a very extensive career who arrives in Andorra to occupy the left-back position. Trained at Villarreal youth system, Royo has travelled a lot around Spain (Conquense, Valladolid B, Espanyol B, Barakaldo, Ebro and Costa Brava), had a brief experience in the Czech Republic (Teplice), while the last two and a half years have been spent between the first and second Dutch divisions in the ranks of Almere City and NAC Breda.

Andorran fans may remember Royo from his time on the Costa Brava, a team that the tricolours faced in the year of promotion to LaLiga in the 2021/22 season. The full-back played as a starter in both matches – both of which ended in a draw –.

In his new dressing room, the defender from Alcanar, Catalonia, will also be reunited with an old teammate, Álvaro Peña, with whom he spent a season at Almerce City.

Welcome to the Principality, Manel! Your successes will be ours!
