FC Andorra's sports management announces the arrival of striker Jon Karrikaburu on loan until the end of the season. The Navarre attacker has played the first half of the season at Alavés, in LaLiga 1, but is owned by Real Sociedad, the team with whom he debuted in the first division.
Jon Karrikaburu (Elizondo, 19/9/2002) is a striker trained in the youth categories of Real Sociedad, but who has played this last year on loan at Leganés first and, at the beginning of this season, at Alavés. In the Vitorian side, in LaLIga, he has not enjoyed many opportunities, but despite this, he is one of the most promising strikers of his generation. Last year he left a very good sensations in the second leg he made at Leganés and before that he had already shown his goalscoring ability in the experience of the Real Sociedad reserve in the LaLiga 2 (11). With the San Sebastian first team, he has also made his debut in LaLiga and the Europa League.
In his first season in the senior category, he already showed his goalscoring ability with 10 goals with Real Sociedad C, further improving his records next seasons: 22 goals with the second reserve Txuri Urdin and 4 more with the reserve team, with whom he obtained promotion to the second division. The 21/22 season, in the silver category, 'Karrika' scored 11 goals, a fact that earned him the promotion to the first team the following year with whom he played 12 games between league, cup and Europa League – he had debuted the previous season in European competition. But since then he has played on loan first for Leganés, Alavés and now Andorra.
Karrikaburu, an area striker with a great shot, has faced Andorra twice: the last, at the end of last season in an already intranscendent match that ended in a 1-1 draw with a nice goal from the Navarre striker. The other, much worse memories for the Tricolours, the promotion game in which Real Sociedad B beat Andorra with Karrikaburu, and also Lobete and Petxa in the Basque ranks.
