José Marsà, a marshal for the defensive line

FC Andorra's sports management announces the signing of José Marsà from Sporting Club de Portugal. The centre-back, who has signed on a three-year deal, already knows the category as he played on loan at Sporting Gijón in the second half of last season. It comes at zero cost, although the Lisbon club saves 50% of a future sale.

José Marsà (Esplugues de Llobregat, 4/3/2002) is a defender trained in Barça's youth categories but who left his home in the summer of 2021 at just 19 years old to start an adventure with one of Portugal's greats. At Sporting Lisbon he combined the reserves with sporadic appearances with the first team in both league and cup, until last winter when he went on loan to another Sporting, in this case Gijón.

In the Spanish league, Marsà became an important man in the defensive line of the Asturian team in the six months he played in Segunda División. In total, the Catalan centre-back played 13 games, including the visit of Sporting to Estadi Nacional, a match that was resolved in favor of the tricolour interests thanks to a solitary goal by Bakis from the penalty spot.

Marsà, despite his youth, is a reliable central defender with a good height and who obviously stands out for his ability to pass the ball and overcome pressure lines from behind.
