Andorra drew 0-0 against Europa in the first edition of the Andorra la Vella Festa Major Trophy, held this Saturday at the Estadi Comunal. The match was marked by the great atmosphere in the stands, with fans supporting the team throughout the game.
The tricolor team enjoyed the first clear chances of the match. Ratti intervened in the 8th minute to stop a low shot from Europa's forward, while shortly after, Cerdà had a great opportunity to put Andorra ahead, but the visiting goalkeeper responded with a great save. Cano and Andoni created another dangerous chance in the 39th minute, and two minutes later, Cano scored after a pass from Cerdà, but the goal was disallowed for offside.
Europa also had their chances before halftime, especially in an action where a loss by Marc Domènech ended with a shot from the edge of the box that grazed Ratti's goalpost. In the second half, the tricolor goalkeeper was once again a key player with a great close-range save in the 50th minute. The Barcelona-based team had another clear chance in the 62nd minute, with a shot that narrowly missed the post.
Both teams maintained their intensity until the final stages in a very competitive match with chances for both sides, but neither managed to find the back of the net. Thus, the Andorra la Vella Festa Major Trophy ended in a goalless draw, serving as another preseason test for Carles Manso's team.
