Mistakes are costly

Andorra once again failed to secure points at home in a match that had everything in the first half but calmed down after the break. The tricolors were better and probably deserved at least a draw, but they were once again not decisive enough in their area and paid dearly for their mistakes and lack of control over the small details.

The first half was a frenzy of goals and chances. The problem was that Andorra had more opportunities, but Burgos scored more goals. As early as the 2nd minute, Schneider tried with a powerful shot that hit the crossbar, but in the 10th minute, the first cold shower arrived. In a strange play where Andorra showed some naivety, the former tricolor Karrikaburu opened the scoring.

The Principality's team reacted quickly, and Lautaro equalized by picking up the rebound from a Schneider shot. But again, just when it seemed everything was back on track, the visitors scored another goal: Luengo outplayed the local defense on a corner kick and scored the second.

Despite the goal, Andorra kept trying. Randy Schneider, who made numerous attempts in the first half, came close to scoring with two good shots, and Lautaro sent the ball into the back of the net again, but the referee disallowed the goal for a prior foul. Once again, however, it was the third goal for the Castilians that arrived, this time after a penalty for a handball by Martí Vilà.

The match, however, was far from over. Andorra was attacking with some ease, and despite the 1-3 scoreline, they were playing well. Thus, before the break, Jordi Cano scored to narrow the gap, finishing off an excellent collective play.

But all the excitement of the first half disappeared in the second, where Burgos had it easy by stepping back and waiting near their area. Minutes passed with Andorra trying but unable to find as many spaces as in the first 45 minutes. Diego Díaz, who entered the field with determination, made a couple of attempts, and earlier, Lautaro Spatz had his shot blocked by a defender's legs when all of Encamp was ready to celebrate the goal. But time went on, and the scoreline remained unchanged.
