FC Andorra suffered their second defeat of the preseason against UE Olot. The match finished 2-0 in favor of the Catalan team thanks to the two goals scored by Xumetra, the first penalty and the second in a counterattack.
The match already showed its difficulty from the beginning when Xumetra advanced the local team from the penalty spot in the 4th minute. The referee pointed to some hands of the Andorran defense inside the area and the forward scored the penalty kick with an adjusted shot to the post. The pressure of UE Olot players made it difficult to display the game that characterizes FC Andorra. Just minutes after the 20th minute, Martí Riverola left the game due fortuitos clash against Juan Delgado when fighting for an aerial ball. Both players were taken to the Olot Hospital where they were treated and any serious injuries were ruled out.
Rai Marchan’s presence led to the best Andorran game minutes. Playing through the wingers, Iker Goujon and Loureiro hurt the local defense, but the team didn’t succeed in finishing off the goal of Pol Ballesté.
After halftime, UE Olot scored the second and last goal of the game. Thanks to a counterattack led by Chabboura by the right band, who left it to Xumetra so that the forward scored with a crossed shot. Minutes later, the tricolor response arrived with a strong shot by Borja Herrera that made Batalla, the local goalkeeper, show off in the second half. Already in the last minutes, although the dominance in the game, FC Andorra could not reach the local goal with danger. In spite of the dominance and some dangerous goal occasions, the match ended with the score at 2-0.
